For the Wontons
- 12 Wonton Wrappers
- 100 g Ground Pork
- 50 g Shrimp finely chopped
- 1 Garlic Clove minced
- 1 tsp Fresh Ginger grated
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce
- ½ tsp Sesame Oil
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp White Pepper
- 1 Green Onion Finely chopped
For the Broth
- 4 cups Chicken Stock low-sodium
- 1 inch Fresh Ginger sliced
- 2 Cloves Garlic smashed
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- ½ tbsp Sesame Oil
- ½ tsp White Pepper
- 1 Green Onion thinly sliced (for garnish)
Make the Wonton Filling
In a bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, white pepper, and green onion. Mix well until the filling is evenly combined.
Fill the Wontons
Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Add about 1 tsp of filling to the center.
Wet the edges of the wrapper with a bit of water. Fold into a triangle, sealing the edges tightly.
Bring the two bottom corners of the triangle together and press to seal, forming the classic wonton shape. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
Prepare the Broth
In a medium pot, bring chicken stock to a gentle boil. Add ginger slices, smashed garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Remove the ginger and garlic pieces before serving.
Cook the Wontons
Bring a separate pot of water to a boil. Gently drop in the wontons and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until they float to the top.
Transfer the cooked wontons to the prepared broth using a slotted spoon.
