  • 200 g Penne Pasta
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Olive Oil

For White Sauce

  • 2 tsp Butter
  • 2 tsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Milk warm
  • ¼ cup Cheese Grated (e.g., Parmesan or cheddar)
  • ¼ tsp Garlic Powder
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste
  • Nutmeg Just a pinch of it

  • ½ cup Cooked Vegetables (e.g., broccoli, peas, bell peppers, or mushrooms)
  • Cooked chicken or shrimp optional for protein
  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta

  • Boil water in a large pot, add a pinch of salt, and cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente.
  • Drain the pasta, toss with a little olive oil to prevent sticking, and set aside.

Prepare the White Sauce

  • In a saucepan, melt butter over low-medium heat.
  • Add the flour and whisk continuously for 1-2 minutes until the raw smell disappears (don’t let it brown).
  • Gradually add the warm milk while whisking to avoid lumps.
  • Cook on medium heat, stirring, until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.

Flavor the Sauce

  • Stir in the grated cheese, garlic powder, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Combine Pasta and Sauce

  • Add the cooked pasta to the white sauce. Toss to coat evenly.
  • If using vegetables or protein, add them now and mix well.

Serve

  • Transfer to serving plates and garnish with parsley, basil, or additional grated cheese.
