For the Chicken
- 2 Chicken Thighs Skinless and Boneless (about 200g)
- 2 Green Onions scallions, cut into 1inch pieces
- Bamboo skewers soaked in water for 30 minutes
For the Yakitori Sauce (Tare)
- 3 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 2 tbsp Mirin
- 1 tbsp Sake (optional)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp Garlic Grated
- 1 tsp Ginger Grated
Make the Sauce
Combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, garlic, and ginger in a small saucepan.
Simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring until slightly thickened. Set aside.
Cook the Skewers
Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill to medium heat.
Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, brushing generously with the yakitori sauce.
Grill until chicken is fully cooked and has a slight char.
